Mark your calendars! Our ELCA missionaries in Japan, Jim and Carol Sack, will be with us for worship on Sunday, August 7th at 9:30 a.m. They are looking forward to telling us about what they are doing to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are looking forward to having them with us!
It’s nearly time for Vacation Bible School!
Gear up for an over-the-top underground adventure! Ground kids in the rock-solid foundation of God’s love–a love that takes us through life’s dark times. At Bone Lake Lutheran Vacation Bible School, kids will experience God’s Word in surprising and unforgettable ways! Each day, leaders will reinforce one simple Bible truth–which makes it easy for kids to remember and apply to real life! Cost is only $5 per child and includes a meal each day and a t-shirt. Contact the church office to register (715-472-2535). Runs from Sunday, July 17th through Thursday, July 21st, from 5:00 to 7:45 p.m.
At the end of worship on July 10th, the Church Council will present the quarterly update to the congregation. Quarterly statements will also be coming in the mail to all members in early July.
If you’ve ever wondered how Lutherans approach the Bible, the DVD, “How Lutherans Interpret the Bible” is just for you! This DVD is a 7-session series in which Lutheran seminary professor and pastor Dr. Mark Allen Powell invites you to explore seven important questions about Lutherans and the Bible. Dr. Powell does not prescribe “the Lutheran way” to read the Bible nor does he dismiss the way you may have come to understand the Bible. Instead, he presents a variety of Lutheran perspectives for interpreting the Bible. Through Dr. Powell’s rich discussions you will discover answers to questions you have always had about the Bible. Join us in the sanctuary at 6:30 pm on June 15th, following the free community meal for a showing of one segment from this DVD series, approximately 20 minutes in length.
Join us on Wednesday, June 15th from 5:30 until 6:30 pm for our monthly Free Community Meal served in the Fellowship Hall–we will be serving lasagna! A short program will follow in the sanctuary at 6:30 where we will be playing one or two segments from the DVD series, “How Lutherans Interpret the Bible.” Make plans to come for dinner and stay for a short program!
The Book of Acts will be the main focus of our worship during the summer this year when we will be looking at how the Holy Spirit is at work in all areas of our lives and in the world around us.
We will be honoring our high school graduates on Sunday, May 22nd.
We welcome all to our ongoing monthly FREE meal for anyone in the community. Please stop in (no reservations required!) anytime between 5:30 and 6:30 on Wednesday, May 18th to enjoy a meal on us. Tell your friends and neighbors. Everyone is welcome. A short program (evening worship or a movie) will also take place after the meal–we haven’t yet decided what it will be. Stay tuned!
On Sunday, May 29, we will be changing over to our summer worship time.
Join us throughout the summer on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. for worship.
You are invited to Bible study at 8:30 a.m., before worship.
Please stay for coffee and treats after worship!
Join us on May 15th at 10:30 for worship as we do some major celebrating! This is the day we know as Pentecost, the birthday of the Christian Church–we will hear how the Holy Spirit was sent to the early disciples and be reminded that the Holy Spirit is still with us today, helping us to spread the Good News to all the earth!
The Sunday School will also be presenting their end-of-year program that morning; most of you know this means it is also “Wear Your Pajamas to Church” day! If you don’t care to wear pajamas, please wear the color RED, as this is the color the church uses on Pentecost.
Come join us, all together in one place as we praise and give thanks to God!
