We are currently collecting care kits for Lutheran World Relief. Every fall, Bone Lake Lutheran sends a variety of kits to LWR and you can help in this effort! A variety of kits are requested by LWR; they are: Baby Care Kits, Personal Care Kits, Fabric Kits, and School Kits. The lists for these kits and the items required in each kit are now available at the church. For more information on these kits and to learn about the many things LWR does to help others in need, see the Lutheran World Relief webpage: www.lwr.org/beinvolved
Can’t make it to church for worship on Sunday morning? No problem! Just call in and listen to the service at worship time (as of September 11, worship will begin at 10:30 am Sunday mornings).
Dial 715-472-0890. Punch in the code: 076582#, then press # again (when the recorded voice asks for your name).
If you hear that “you are being muted” don’t be concerned–you will still be able to hear the service. Also, it does happen that at times callers get accidentally disconnected from the worship service–we are still working out the bugs of this new ministry. If that happens, just call back in!
We appreciate any feedback you can give us on this new ministry–talk to Pastor Ann or Tammy Brenizer.
Every October, the Bone Lake Lutheran Church “Gift of Warm Clothing” ministry has their winter outerwear giveaway.
To prepare for this annual giveaway, here’s what you can do: Keep an eye out for great deals on outerwear at garage sales, or look for outerwear as you clean out closets or your kids outgrow their jackets and boots; new or gently used outerwear only.
Jackets, hats, mittens, boots, and snow pants–especially in children’s sizes. Extended size jackets are needed for men and women. Please make sure everything is laundered and in good shape. If a zipper needs help, please make note of it on the garment. Thank you! And spread the word about the giveaway on October 14 and 15 to people you know who may need help with winter clothing.
Join us as we begin a new season of our monthly free community meals. We are not sure what we’ll be serving yet (it all depends on how the Holy Spirit is at work in the planning and preparation!), but we know it will be good eatin’ and a wonderful evening of fellowship. The meal will be served from 5:30 to 6:30. See you there!
If you are able, plan on staying after the meal for REFUEL–a time of learning about God, followed by a mid-week contemporary worship service.
Join us on Sunday, September 18 at worship for the Sunday School Kick-Off, followed by the annual Festival of Gratitude (Fall Festival) at 11:45.
The dinner following worship will be potluck, so please bring a dish to pass. Apple crisp will be provided…YUM!
There will be demonstrations by church members, activities for the kids (and adults who are kids at heart), a beanbag toss competition, a talent show, and fun and fellowship! Please join us for this day when we recognize, give thanks for, and delight in God’s abundance in our lives.
If it is challenging for you or for you and your family to attend Sunday worship, or if you would like more time together with friends as you learn more about God and your faith, you are not going to want to miss this amazing opportunity! Beginning this fall, we are excited to announce a new weekly program of Faith Formation and mid-week worship for all ages at Bone Lake Lutheran Church!
REFUEL (Renewed Evangelism thru Faith, Understanding, Enjoyment and Love) will take place on Wednesday nights, providing a mid-week opportunity for us to be in fellowship with one another as we deepen our faith.
It all begins with food and fun from 5:30 to 6:15, followed by small group faith formation time from 6:15 to 7:00. The evening wraps up with a brief contemporary worship service. All ages are welcome!
We are extremely excited about the new opportunities God is providing for us to praise Jesus and proclaim his love for us. Hope to see you on Wednesday nights!
To all returning and new (grades 6, 7 and 8) confirmation students, along with their parents and mentors: It’s time for Confirmation classes to begin! This year, we will be studying the Old Testament and learning about the very foundations of our faith and our ancestors, coming to know better some pretty amazing people! This first meeting of the year is always a potluck followed by an informational meeting about the year ahead, some talk about Jesus, and to answer any questions.
If you know of any student going into 6th, 7th or 8th grade who would be interested in learning more about God (they do not have to be a member of Bone Lake Lutheran), please have them contact the church office.
Join the knitters of Bone Lake Lutheran Church for their monthly gathering of fellowship and knitting, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 9:00 a.m.
Mark your calendars! Our ELCA missionaries in Japan, Jim and Carol Sack, will be with us for worship on Sunday, August 7th at 9:30 a.m. They are looking forward to telling us about what they are doing to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are looking forward to having them with us!
